Tesla Making Vegan Car

Tesla has ditched real leather in its new Model X SUV and gone to a vegan alternative.
Interestingly enough the idea was launched by PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), which is a shareholder in the company. Elon Musk, Tesla’s owner and founder, thought that was a great idea. After all, these futuristic, fuel-efficient cars defeat their purpose if they draw on the world’s heaviest polluters, livestock producers, for parts. The artificial leather, which includes seats, steering wheel, and gear shift, is called “Ultra White” on Tesla’s website.
BTW Tesla also offers cloth as an option instead of leather in its other car, the Model S.
