Lab-Grown Meat Update

It may be a few more years off, but the advent of slaughterhouse- and feedlot-free meat is coming, it’s just a matter of time before these hideous institutions are history. In fact the companies, like Modern Meadow, creating lab-grown meat, intend to produce it in “carneries” — food factories — employing an entirely new crop of factory workers. Given that the world’s taste for meat shows no sign of slowing down, there is a lot at steak — I mean stake — for this product to succeed. Here is an excellent update from Slate:
